Wondering What SGS Brings to Made in Moris?

Since the label’s inception, SGS (Mauritius) Ltd has been much more than a partner. It stands as the ultimate guarantee of rigour and excellence for products made in Mauritius. As a global leader in certification, SGS ensures that every labelled company meets the highest quality standards.

But the commitment goes even further. Together, SGS and Made in Moris co-created the official Specifications Guide - the benchmark document that defines the key criteria required to earn the label. This checklist evolves every year, updated to reflect new regulations and market shifts.

120 criteria, one label of excellence

As an independent certification body, SGS audits companies against 120 specific criteria, ensuring the quality and authenticity of each labelled product. After the compliance visit, companies receive a detailed report packed with recommendations and corrective actions. Some earn top marks straight away, while others use this valuable feedback to adjust and secure their certification.

This continuous improvement process, driven by the SGS and Made in Moris collaboration, raises the label’s standards year after year. Together, they are building a local industry that is more demanding, more responsible, and more competitive.
